What it does: Automatically converts your Work Completed notes into structured parts lists by extracting information you’ve already entered. It then generates supplier order emails and updates your parts tracking spreadsheets - no extra data entry needed.
Why we built it: We were sick of double-handling information - manually creating parts orders was slow, repetitive, and prone to mistakes.
How it helps us: It saves us time by cutting out the back-and-forth between ServiceM8 and our ordering tools. The process is streamlined, faster, and far less error-prone.
Daily Payment Summary
What it does: Sends a daily summary of all payments received - including cash, card, and bank transfers processed in ServiceM8 - straight to Google Chat, Microsoft Teams, or your email inbox.
Why we built it: We had no easy way to track cash payments, and card payment reports from ServiceM8 often arrived a day (or more) later. We wanted real-time visibility.
How it helps us: Now we get automated payment reports every morning - giving us instant oversight without chasing numbers or doing manual tallies.
Form Flip Application
What it does: A flexible app that connects your Work Description and forms in ServiceM8. Pre-fill forms with text from your Work Description, or push completed form data back into your Work Description. You can even insert structured headings into the Work Description from a form template - then complete the details later.
Why we built it: We wanted to eliminate double-handling and the constant copy-pasting between forms and job notes. It was slow and messy.
How it helps us: We’ve standardised our documentation, and no longer need to re-type the same details across invoices, forms, and job records. It’s cleaner, faster, and more consistent.

How long does a CustomBuild take to deliver?
Most CustomBuilds take between 2 to 4 weeks, depending on complexity. We’ll give you a clear timeframe before we start.
What does a CustomBuild typically cost?
The development cost usually sits between $500 and $2,500, depending on what you need. You can spread that cost over 12 months if it makes life easier.
Once it’s built, it’s $99 a month to run your first CustomBuild, then $79 a month for any extra builds you get later.
Do I own the CustomBuild once it’s built?
TaskLab keeps ownership of the CustomBuild (ie the code), but you get exclusive rights to use it in your business. If there are parts of it that could help others, we might turn those into a PreBuilt App — but anything that’s specific to your workflow stays just for you.
What’s the difference between a CustomBuild and a PreBuilt App?
PreBuilt Apps are ready-made tools you can start using straight away. A CustomBuild is made specifically for your business and how you work. Sometimes, a CustomBuild ends up being useful for others, and we’ll turn parts of it into a PreBuilt App - but only with your OK.
Can I request changes or updates later?
Yep — if you need tweaks or changes down the track, just let us know. We can quote up upgrades or you can go on a support plan if you want ongoing help.
What if my idea is very specific to my business?
